Privacy policy

When you create a profile we store:

• Your email address or phone number, used only to sign you in and reset your password.
• Your first name, date of birth, gender, who you want to meet, city, roots, bio, languages, interests and photos.
• The name of the Shmagele you choose, and the note they write if they confirm.
• Your likes, passes, matches and messages.
• Events you RSVP to, members you block, and reports you file.

We do not collect your contacts, your precise location, or anything from other apps.

• Your first name, age (never your birthday), city, roots, bio, interests, languages, photos and a confirmed Shmagele note.
• Your profile is only shown to signed-in members who match the mode and preferences you set. It is never public or indexed by search engines.
• Quiet mode hides your profile from discovery entirely. Existing matches can still message you.
• Messages are visible only to the two members in a match, and to moderators when a report is filed.
• A confirmed Shmagele can open a 24-hour matchmaker link for the member who named them. It shows them up to ten cards a day with a member's first name, age, city, roots, interests and main photo, and nothing else. You can switch this off for your own profile at any time from your profile page.

Photos are stored in a private bucket. They are served through short-lived links to signed-in members only, and removed when you replace them or delete your account.

Blocking a member hides you from each other and closes your conversation. When you report someone, moderators can read the conversation between you to act on the report. Every moderation decision is written to an audit log with the moderator's identity.

Nobody, beyond the services that run Beles: our hosting and database provider (Lovable Cloud on Supabase) and, if you sign in with Google, Google for authentication. We do not sell data and we do not use it for advertising.

You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. Deletion removes your profile, photos, likes, matches and messages, and your sign-in. Reports filed about you are kept without your profile so moderators can recognise repeat behaviour.

Beles is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create a profile.

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Questions go to the community team through the email you signed up with.
